I posted a chronology on instagram of a 48 hour start to finish foundation project. The success and pace of this work reminds me of how much I dislike old 7 foot tall basements with tiny windows that you encounter when renovating old houses. How much value are you saving by recycling an old basement when you can, in combination with a big excavator, replace a foundation, taller, stronger, wider, moved forward in the lot, by quickly pouring a new one. And you get a better pad as well you can do hydronic heat it. And new subslab plumbing. And a new water and sewer connection. And all new windows and framing of more insulating frost walls.
